IN THE BEGINNING

We closed on the farm on June 14th of 2004 and started moving our house out to the country.  Gary and Marie were home for the summer and had 2 more years of teaching in Alaska before they would retire, so we had 2 years to do the barn and we could live in their house while we did it.

The first project was to have the barn shingled.  This was one of the last stick built barns in the area and shortly after pole barns became the new barn.  Removing the shingles found the writing Hotter than Hell August 15th 1954, almost 50 years to the date.
